The film and television industry is an ever-evolving beast, constantly innovating and improving the way we produce and consume content. As we move into 2025, Sixth Degree is leading the charge in making production operations more efficient, streamlined, and intuitive for everyone involved in the process.

For those who are unfamiliar with Sixth Degree, it’s a platform created by industry veterans to centralise productions, crew, third-party suppliers, and locations into a single network. The idea is simple: make communication and organization more efficient by offering all the tools a production team needs in one place. What sets Sixth Degree apart is that it’s for every crew member, regardless of their department, or experience level, anyone can benefit from the platform and streamline their workflow to focus on what they love.

But we’re not stopping there. Sixth Degree is about to get even more powerful, with a slew of exciting new features set to launch in 2025. From incentivising crew members to communicate with suppliers to making international shoots more seamless, there’s a lot to look forward to. Let’s take a deep dive into some of the key features coming your way.

1. The Call Up: Engaging Crew with Rewards

At Sixth Degree, we’re all about incentivizing and rewarding the efforts that go into making a production run smoothly. One of the exciting new additions to the platform is The Call Up feature, designed to make crew-supplier communication even more rewarding.

In 2025, crew members who use Sixth Degree to contact suppliers and locations will earn entries into a weekly lottery. The more suppliers a crew member engages with, the more chances they have to win exciting prizes. From high-end tech gadgets to exclusive industry events, the prizes are designed to enhance both personal and professional experiences for our crew.

But the rewards don’t stop there. As the platform grows, so too do the opportunities for winning. Whether you're a sound engineer, grip, or location manager, your engagement with suppliers on the platform will be directly linked to your chances of winning. This feature not only encourages communication but also strengthens the ecosystem within the platform, making it more beneficial for everyone involved.

Imagine being able to plan your next production while having the chance to win something that could elevate your craft. That’s what Sixth Degree is all about—rewarding dedication, encouraging communication, and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.

Finding the perfect location for a production has always been one of the most time-consuming aspects of any shoot. In 2025, we’re changing all that with Locations—a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate directory of locations that will make location scouting faster and more efficient than ever. With professional scout photos included for each location, you’ll no longer have to settle for blurry or poorly lit images from 10 years ago.

Each location will be presented in its best light, ensuring that you can make informed decisions without wasting valuable time.

More than just a directory, Locations will allow you to communicate directly with location owners, bypassing agents and intermediaries. This direct line of communication will save you time, reduce potential misunderstandings, and give you more control over the booking process.
